our monthly draw.
We will notify you by email if you win, and you can then choose a skein
from the website.
Only available colourways are able to be ordered as
free skeins, and freight is included in the prize.
Is there anything better than free yarn?
The Yarn
Our hand dyed yarn is created on a small scale and each skein is crafted individually. Because of this, each one is unique and may vary from the pictured skein. Every effort is made to represent the colourway accurately, but there may be some variation due to a number of factors.
It is accepted
practice that if you are concerned about differences between skeins when knitting, you can
knit alternate rows from each to minimise the effect.
We do our best to photograph our yarn to be an accurate representation
of colours. However, we have no control
over discrepancies in monitors and web browsers, so there may be some
variation. If you receive a skein and
are not happy with the colours, you are welcome to return it for a full refund
(less postage, see our returns policy below).
All yarn is kept in sealed bins in my smoke free environment
prior to finding a new home with you.
Shipping
To New Zealand:
All orders are sent using CourierPost. The only exception to this is sock blockers, which are sent using NZPost's Track and Trace service. This means we are able to send to you even if you have a PO Box, private bag or rural address. Packages are shipped on weekdays. If something unusual
happens and there is a delay with shipping your order I will always contact you to let you know.
The freight and handling charges within New Zealand are as follows –
Orders up to $75.00 - $6.00
Orders over $75.00 - free
To Australia:
All orders to Australia are sent using New Zealand Post. Packages are shipped on weekdays. If something unusual
happens and there is a delay with shipping your order I will always contact you to let you know.
Orders up to $75.00 - $10.00 postage and handling (International Air, delivery
in 3-10 working days); includes free insurance up to $250.00, tracking
available for $10 extra.
Orders over $75.00 – free postage and handling (International Air,
delivery in 3-10 working days); includes free insurance up to $250.00, tracking
available for $10 extra.
Sock club shipping is separate to this and included in the total price of subscription.
To everywhere else:
For international orders we charge a standard shipping and handling fee of $15.

Important note for all international buyers:
Needle Food is not responsible for delays in customs, custom
duties or import tariffs, taxes, or fees. I honestly declare the actual value
of items on Customs Declaration shipping forms and apologise that I cannot mark
the package contents as a "gift" on customs forms.
I sincerely apologise if this results in additional charges.
Occasionally packages are held up in Customs. Because of this international
packages are not considered lost until five weeks after the ship date.
Returns & Exchanges:
We want you to be thrilled with your purchase and will do
whatever we can to achieve that. If you ever receive a skein and want to
exchange it, please just let us know.
If you would like to exchange yarn, please notify us as soon
as possible so we can put aside the yarn you wish to receive in exchange. We can only exchange for yarn that is in
stock, and we need to receive the original skein back at Needle Food within two
weeks of the delivery date. Returned
yarn has to be in its original condition, with original band intact, uncaked,
unwound, clean and free of odours such as perfume, smoke or pets. The purchaser needs to pay for the return
shipping and it is recommended that a tracked service is used to minimise the
risk of loss. No exchange can be made
for yarn that is lost in the post and no refund will be made of any shipping
charges made on the original dispatch.
If you would like to return yarn, that is no problem. We are proud to offer a 100% money back
guarantee (less any shipping charges). Simply
notify us and return the yarn to Needle Food within two weeks of the delivery
